Are you interested in learning about breakthroughs in the sciences, education, culture and other areas that have affected our lives, changed our thinking, and the way we do things? If you do, plan to come to The Frumkes Center’s Special Events, including the Best-Selling Author series and the Great Thinker series.


Best-Selling Authors

Our Best-Selling Authors series is offered in the Fall and Spring semesters.  Events in this series include a lecture, Q&A, book singing, and a post-event reception. Past speakers in the Best-Selling Authors series include Mary Higgins Clark, Gay Talese, Joyce Carol Oates, André Aciman, Meg Wolitzer and Walter Mosley, among others. Events are open to the public and free of charge.

Great Thinkers

Our Great Thinkers series is offered in the Fall and Spring semesters.  Events in this series include a lecture, Q&A, book singing, and a post-event reception. Past presenters in the Great Thinkers series include Freeman Dyson, Margaret J. Geller, Edward Witten, Howard Gardner, Steven Pinker, Rebecca Goldstein, and Alan Guth. Events are open to the public and free of charge

Master Classes

Master Classes are also offered during our Fall and Spring seasons. Recent Master Class instructors include Malachy McCourt, Hilma Wolitzer, and Daphne Merkin. In the summer, The Frumkes Center hosts a day-long Writers’ Conference featuring distinguished keynote speakers and panelists including writers of a variety of genres, editors, publishers, and literary agents.
